Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World Vegan Cupcakes

Question by Sugar&Spice: vegans, vegetarians, please tell me what you think!!!?
i have had many bad things happen to me today, but none as bad as what just happened…

I’m an American born Indian, and my parents decided to have a house-cleansing ceremony because we bought a new house last year…i spent around 5-6 hours baking cupcakes yesterday for the menu today and was passed them out to whoever wanted one OR KNEW THAT THEY COULD HAVE ONE. About two minutes later, my mom came up to me and told me that one man “accidentally” ate the cupcake and doesn’t eat EGGS. So this man just happens to be the “president” or “head” of the temple, and doesn’t eat eggs on Sunday, but eats loads of meat and drinks crazily ever other day. He made such a big deal about it to. You would think that someone who doesn’t eat eggs a particular day would know enough to not eat it (some people refused it by saying they could not eat eggs)…I feel sooo bad, and his son and I are really good friends 2…I see these people like 3 days a week.

someone please help me….I’m feeling soo down :(
was it really my fault???

Vegans cannot eat…?

Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World Vegan Cupcakes

Question by Tiny Canadian: Vegans cannot eat…?
Foods that have milk in it, right?

Like You couldn’t have a cupcake because it has milk baked into it…

I was just wondering because this website said you could have pizza without the cheese, but doesn’t pizza have milk in it? Like to bake the crust?

Best answer:

Answer by Trenisha
vegans cant eat any animal products. dairy, eggs, and esp. meat of all kinds (chicken, fish, beef, pork, etc). so no. a vegan cannot eat foods with milk in them. and they wouldnt be able to eat a cupcake anyways because they have eggs in them.
but you can buy good vegan cupcakes and cookies at your local healthfood store.
vegans also cant buy leather or fur goods or anything that has once belonged to a live animal.

EDIT: ive never heard of pizza crust with milk in it? but SOME use eggs. so no you wouldnt be able to eat a normal pizza without making sure they dont use any dairy or egg products. and besides….whats a pizza without cheese?! but im sure they make vegan pizzas as well.

Can i replace the white vinegar and vanilla extract with red wine in this chocolate cake recipe?

Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World Vegan Cupcakes

Question by okayplease: Can i replace the white vinegar and vanilla extract with red wine in this chocolate cake recipe?
Super Moist Chocolate Cake

Ingredients (use vegan versions):

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (can substitute with whole wheat flour)
1 cup white or brown sugar
3 tablespoons sifted good quality cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt, optional
5 tablespoons canola oil
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup cold water

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt; mix well. Make three deep holes in the dry mixture. Into one hole, pour the oil, into the next hole, pour the vinegar, and into the final hole, pour the vanilla.

2. Pour the water into the bowl, over all. Mix the wet and dry ingredients together until there aren’t any more lumps and pour into an ungreased 9×9 baking pan, 2 inches deep.

3. Bake for about 30 minutes, test with a fork.

By far the most surprisingly deeelightful cake. This recipe is great for adults and for kids ages 3 and up. Enjoy this delicious cake. You will be surprised at its moistness and richness! It can be cooled and iced with your choice of icing or can be enjoyed on its own. The batter can also be used to make cupcakes!

For an instant cake, have the premeasured, premixed dry ingredients at hand, then simply add the wet ingredients when you want a fresh treat! It makes a great birthday cake! Hey, it even freezes well!

Makes: 1 – 9″ x 9″ cake, Preparation time: 15 minutes, Cooking time: 30 minutes

Or should i use balsamic vinegar instead? I have neither white vinegar nor vanilla extract.

Best answer:

Answer by cjvw622
I’d use balsamic because it will give more sweetness in place of the vanilla. Also, you can use the same quantity.

You sound like a total moron (yea, like, OMG, yummy, u guys, gross!) so KISS-slice the cheese, layer it with sliced avocado on the tortillas and broil them 2 minutes until the cheese melts and the tortillas brown.

PLEASE HELP IF POSSIBLE!!!!?

Question by original: PLEASE HELP IF POSSIBLE!!!!?
Our family is having an easter get together tomorrow and i want to make a dessert/pastry to take with me. the thing is i want something thats both VEGAN AND SUGAR-FREE. im having a hard time trying to find a good recipe so i was wondering if anyone new some or had any other suggestions. Let me just say that im not going to make a pie or large cake or anything because i know a lot of other people will be bringing such things. Im looking more for recipes that are for cookies, brownies, cupcakes, etc.(small things……oh and nothing liquidy like pudding or ice-cream). Thank you so much.

Answer by pennybarr
If others are bringing cakes, pies and probably cookies, I would suggest you put together a nice fruit platter or fruit salad. After a heavy meal, many people can’t handle a heavy dessert and fruit hits the spot.

Small Bakerys – how do you handle tastings for wedding cakes etc?

Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World Vegan Cupcakes

Question by Trilogy: Small Bakerys – how do you handle tastings for wedding cakes etc?
Small Bakerys – how do you handle tastings for wedding cakes etc?
I am starting out a small bakery, I will do cupcakes and cakes mostly. I have a large range of cakes that can be used for weddings and celebrations and even more frostings. However I intend to remain small, maybe one or two wedding cakes a week tops. Any suggestions on how to handle tastings? It wouldn’t be time or cost effective to make 10 flavors of cakes on demand. Do you freeze cake? Or make up really small quantities?

Also, do you ever cater to functions for a cake where a handful of the guests are vegan, lactose intolerant etc and so are you asked to provide a small cake on the side?

And finally, any tips in covering myself for a bride who doesn’t like the cake on the day? I intend to get a good consultation, provide sketches and get an order signed, but any other suggestions would be great. I don’t want to run foul of a bridezilla! I am in Northern California.

Thank you so much!

the bakery I work at is fairly small and this is what we do.
The owner selected the flavors and icing combinations of what she offers for wedding cakes.
The decorators make up a little tray of small wedges of the samples. this is just 2 layers of cake with the matching icing and filling. No decorations and each wedge is about large enough for 2-3 SMALL bites.
These trays of samples are then double wrapped and frozen and pulled on the day she has a wedding cake appointment. These are prepped weekly for the appointments.
We do freeze cakes all the time. It is impossible to have the variety of cakes we offer baked fresh each day and then also iced for sale that day.
Yes, it does happen if a bride doesn’t like the cake but it is rare as she has already tasted the sample and in our bakery the sample is exactly the same as what she would be getting if she chose that particular cake.
We do not make any cakes that are different than what we normally sell. The only difference is the decorations and the way the cake is put together so our customers are already familiar with our product.

How to start my own business….?

Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World Vegan Cupcakes

Question by Jessika Rabbit: How to start my own business….?
I’m in the process of starting my own business but this is my first time with business endeavors such as this and I’m terrified that I’m going to overlook something serious. Does anyone know (step-by-step even) which steps I need to take to get this thing going? It will be a bakery (specializing in gourmet cupcakes, individual and for parties, events, etc. but will also offer cakes, other pastries, gourmet candy as well as vegan options) and for now I would just like for it to be home-based if at all possible. Can anyone point me in the right direction??

Best answer:

Answer by Phillip
i would start with a business plan, you can find them all over the interenet.

maybe start a little web page too.

start figureing out your market. are there gonna be enough people around to support what you want to do? thats the most important think. prices and products can be changed but not your market.

help knowing where to draw the line?

Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World Vegan Cupcakes

Question by |?-?ear|: help knowing where to draw the line?
im a vegetarian, not a vegan. im having trouble figuring out things i can and cant eat. once you really delve into different additives it gets really complicated… i had no idea.

im okay with eating dairy products. i only eat local or organic dairy products. obtaining these types of dairy products doesnt harm the animal. Its the stuff that actually comes from the body/tissues of the animal that i have no interest in eating.

im looking for a list of hard-to-say chemicals that basically tells you what they are and if they are vegetarian or not.

help! i just found out that theres beef fat in hostess cupcakes so im pretty freaked out!
because i just prefer not to eat dead decaying flesh and muscle. it grosses me out.

You have enough stuff to worry about in your life. Why do you keep adding to it? Just because you don’t eat it, doesn’t mean that they won’t still be killed and used.

The bride said I could bring dessert to the wedding, but what’s the etiquette?

Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World Vegan Cupcakes

Question by Brahbrah: The bride said I could bring dessert to the wedding, but what’s the etiquette?
My husband and I are vegan, and we will be attending a wedding next weekend. There will be about 150-200 guests, and it will be held at a country club that does its own catering. I learned that if I checked the “vegetarian” option on the RSVP card, it would actually be vegan except for the cake. I made no mention to anyone that I wanted cake or dessert of any kind, but the bride mentioned to me that I could bring dessert if I wished. I immediately dismissed this idea, not thinking it would be fun to bring cookies in my purse or anything like that. I am now thinking that it might be fun to have something sweet to eat after the meal, but despite the bride’s statement, it just doesn’t seem like good manners to bring food only for myself and my husband to a catered event.

If I were to wish to bring cupcakes, cookies, or some other dessert, to this wedding, what etiquette guidelines should I follow? Elementary school rules dictate bringing enough for the whole group (150-200 people), but I doubt that the country club would wish to have outside food placed on the table alongside its own. Must I bring enough for the whole table (presumably 6-10 people), at least?

Or was I right in the first place that, even with the bride’s permission, this is a bad idea?

Best answer:

Answer by Pip
Bad idea – just don’t bring anything.

Eat sweet when you leave
