Soy milk isn't overly processed. You can make it yourself. Just cook soybeans and juice them. It should be called soy juice but the marketing people named it soy milk.

You can make your own nut milks using any type of nut. The ratio for nut to water (in cups) is 1:3. So, soak a cup of your favorite nuts/seeds over night in water (make sure all the nuts/seeds are covered). Next, drain the nuts out of the water and put them into a really good blender (like a Vita-Mix) and blend them with 3 cups of water. Then, strain the mixture through a nut milk bag or cheese cloth ( I recommend doing this over a bowl so you don't lose any of the liquid). Finally, enjoy! If you want, you can save the left over grounds of nut/seed and sprinkle it over a salad or put it into muffins, bread, ect. If you want to have added calcium into the nut/seed milk, blend in 1-2 calcium tablets or one multivitamin (buy at drugstore) per 3 cups of water.

I knew a girl in college who poured white grape juice on her cereal.

And, of course, you can make your own almond milk. All you do is put one cup of soaked organic almonds in the blender with three cups of water. Then you strain it through cheesecloth or a sprout bag.

You could try juices or water (I have a teacher who uses this), mix fruit with the cereal, if you really did however want a milk substitute you could always buy organic.
Hope that helped:)

I have a friend who uses plain water or orange juice, but keep in mind if your looking for something to substitute something that comes from an animal it is usually going to be more processed.
